Language Immersion
Overview
Voices of the Street believes that learning a language extends far beyond the walls of a classroom. Meaningful human connections, sports, arts, cultural activities, and everyday life provide unique opportunities to develop lasting language skills while fostering curiosity, confidence, and openness to the world.
This initiative aims to make language immersion experiences more accessible to young people by supporting their participation in educational stays in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, or abroad.

Projects Completed
Summer 2026 — French Immersion Through Basketball
Voices of the Street is sponsoring the stay of a 15-year-old student from Ontario who has completed several years of French immersion education.
To help her continue developing her French in an authentic environment, the organization is supporting her stay in the Greater Montreal area as well as her participation in a basketball summer camp. This experience allows her to use French in everyday life, build new friendships, and gain confidence and independence while pursuing her passion for basketball.
This pilot project marks the beginning of a series of initiatives through which Voices of the Street hopes to make language immersion experiences more accessible to young people.
